  7.         It is useful for the ppp 'ip-up' script to aid in automating
  8.         things such as sending pending mail to the remote when the

  12.               for the name of a device, its netmask, MTU, etc.
  13.         gethost    - Translate an IP address to a name and a name
  14.               to an IP address.
  15.         netmath    - Do math with dotted IP address, such as
  16.                   192.112.246.254 & 255.255.255.0 => 192.112.246.0
